Ivory and taupe ombré wedding at Bradbourne House

Wedding cake Bradbourne House

Being based in Kent means that we get to deliver wedding cakes to all sorts of stunning venues and one of our absolute favourites is Bradbourne House, which was the location for Andy and Yen’s beautiful Spring wedding.

We met with Andy and Yen less than one month before their wedding and although every other aspect had been organised, choosing a cake had proven a little more tricky!

Having found their perfect inspiration in Wedding Cakes – A Design Source, based on an original Wedding Cakes by Jayne design we were thrilled to be asked to put the Bluebell Kitchen slant on a truly beautiful cake.

Andy and Yen’s four tier design brought the imposing Cake Room (I repeat Cake Room) truly alive!

Flavours included a rich fruit cake, a Madagascan vanilla Madeira sponge finished with a homemade vanilla buttercream and summer berry jam and a light lemon Madeira sponge finished with a homemade lemon buttercream.  Andy and Yen wanted everyone of their guests to enjoy the wedding cake so chose flavours that they knew would be popular…in fact they have since told us that “there was barely a slice left by the end of the night.”

Shades of ivory and taupe ombré design are very much on trend this year, so we were delighted to work on such gorgeous colours that also subtly complemented the bride’s bouquet.

We received a lovely thank you note from the couple a few weeks later and these photos were kindly sent by the bride and groom.
