Romantic Pastels, Peonies & Roses Masterclass


Romantic pastels, peonies & roses masterclass is perfect for anyone who wants to learn to create bold, stunning and stylish sugar flowers.  You will learn not only how to make sugar flowers, but also techniques as to display them on a fully iced tiered cake.

In this intensive two day class you will work on dummy cakes to recreate this design on a three tier version learning how to ice in a professional style, achieve sharp edges and create a unique base design for your cake.  You will learn how to make sugar flowers including peonies, full blown roses, anemones, petunias, tiny blossoms and foliage.  This is the ideal class if you have a little knowledge of making sugar flowers and want to take your skills to the next level.

You will learn to:

  • Ice and work with dummy cakes and how to properly stack this style of cake
  • Create unique base designs for each tier of your stacked wedding cake
  • Create peonies, full blown roses, anemones, petunias, tiny blossoms and foliage
  • Effectively work with flower paste and work with colour so that you can choose your own colour schemes
  • Create handmade flower centres and how to use commercially available centres
  • Use specialist sugar cutters and work freehand
  • Wire and vein petals and leaves
  • Use edible dusts, steam and finish your sugar flowers to make them more realistic
  • Confidently assemble your beautiful sugar flowers safely and securely onto your three tiered dummy cake

  • Location: Bluebell Kitchen Cake Studio, Maidstone, Kent. Once booking is confirmed you will receive directions to Bluebell Kitchen by car or train.

You don’t need to bring anything, we will provide all notebooks and pens, tools, cake boxes and equipment including aprons!

Drinks, light lunch and delicious snacks will be provided. Please inform Bluebell Kitchen of any dietary requirement/ allergies prior to attending the class.
