Upnor Castle, Bluebell Kitchen & friends at our first photoshoot!

On what was probably one of the wettest days of the year, Erica and Charlie aka Bluebell Kitchen could be found driving through the Kent countryside to Upnor Castle as part of our very first photoshoot.

Organised by Yvette Craig Photography the photoshoot was an opportunity for all of Yvette’s suppliers (yes we are one of those fab businesses) to be involved in a Winter wedding shoot for the new Upnor Castle wedding brochure.

Before we had even stepped inside the castle we had fallen in love with Upnor which appears to consist solely of a beautiful cobbled High Street, magnificent views of the River Medway, two pubs, a Post Office and of course Upnor Castle itself.

As it always true whenever we leave the confines of Bluebell Kitchen headquarters a mini adventure beckons.  We had been told that

“…if you can make the turn into Upnor Castle you can park in the castle grounds…”

Gulp.

With four large cakes to transport to the photoshoot we made that turn!

The wedding shoot was mainly based in the clocktower.  Being built in Elizabethan times the castle stairs were not built for two super tall cake makers in mind!  Crouching down and holding onto our cakes for dear life we delivered everything in one piece…in fact we think Charlie only managed to hit her head once!

Here are just some of the amazing photos (including our cake designs) that Yvette and her team photographed:
