Who doesn’t love cake? If it’s a surprise cake then even better.
In May 2017 we made the first of our bespoke chocolate delight wedding cakes for Leanne and Aaron, when they married at The Hop Farm, Kent. They wanted to keep a fun, rustic theme which perfectly suited the informal atmosphere of their wedding venue…shire horses, an oast house for their wedding breakfast and of course hops…lots of hops! A real Kentish wedding through and through. They wanted something completely unique to them, but still have a hint of wedding style to it.
Although these on trend style chocolate ganache drip cakes are very popular as celebration and birthday cake, they are still quite unusual as wedding cakes. Since then we have been creating more and more of these, such as our rustic citrus chocolate drip wedding cake.
Fast forward to January 2018…Leanne contacted us to say that she wanted to organise an amazing surprise first wedding anniversary for her husband, Aaron by ordering a mini version of their wedding cake. She said:
“It was such a big part of the day that we were so excited to enjoy and has been a talking point since. I would love for you to create a similar style with similar flavours to that of our wedding cake but on a much smaller scale…”
We were in, of course! A client returning to ask for a mini version of their wedding cake for their first anniversary is probably one of the best compliments a wedding cake designer can receive.
