Did you know that some of the most popular wedding internet searches are “cheap weddings” or “budget weddings”…well, this is where Erica and Charlie at Bluebell Kitchen can help. For some of our couples the wedding cake is the very first item that they book, yes in some cases even before the venue or the dress! However, everyone has different budgets for different parts of their wedding and we realise that a wedding cake is only a tiny part of the whole wedding – of course, for us it is the main feature!
We at Bluebell Kitchen believe that everyone deserves a delicious handmade wedding cake whatever their budget which is why we are thrilled to be launching the Purely Bluebell range…the perfect way to have a beautiful handmade cake without blowing your budget!
At the planning stages, we wanted to ensure that the designs were more than simply a flawlessly iced cake with a ribbon! There are multiple companies that do this very well, but as with all of our designs we wanted to make something a little bit quirky with a story behind it. That’s why we decided on the first Purely Bluebell collection to include five specific designs – The Lizzie, The Louisa, The Georgiana, The Kitty and The Lydia.
Some of you may recognise the names as being inspired by Pride and Prejudice. It just so happens that this is one of Erica’s favourite books, and we think just perfect for our first Purely Bluebell collection especially as marriage is a key theme of the novel after all Mrs Bennett is very keen on finding suitable husbands for each of her five daughters.
We’ve included everything from a waterfall of ombre cascading hydrangeas (The Lizzie), a real splash of colour (The Louisa), intricate hand piping (The Georgiana), a handmade full blown sugar rose focus flower (The Kitty) and not forgetting perfectly piped cupcakes (The Lydia). Who doesn’t love a buttercream iced cupcake?
They are set designs, but we can still make them unique to you by subtly altering the colours/ themes so that they are very personal to you.
When we met Sarah and Dave, they really thought that their only option was to order a supermarket cake so we were so pleased to come up with a suggestion for them that meant that they could have a handmade wedding cake, but within their budget. In fact, and we’re sure they won’t mind us saying, they were our perfect guinea pigs for Purely Bluebell. We made a version of The Georgiana for them.
