At Bluebell Kitchen, we offer a wedding cake design experience that’s centred around you. We take the time to understand your ideas, guide you through the decisions that matter and design a cake that feels beautiful from every angle. Whether this might be visually, emotionally or your flavour.
We don’t start with templates or trends. We start with you. We work with couples across Kent, London, Sussex and Surrey who want something personal, elegant and genuinely delicious.
Your venue, your style and the atmosphere you’re creating all inform the design we work together on to create. Our role is to listen carefully, offer gentle guidance and translate everything into a wedding cake design that feels an integral part of your day.
Your Wedding Cake Design Experience
Step 1
Get in Touch
Send us a message on our Contact page and tell us a little about your wedding and the cake you’ve been dreaming of. We’ll be in touch within 48 hours to let you know if your date is available, and how to proceed.
Step 2
Your Consultation
Sitting down with you to find out all about your love story and the celebration you’re planning is our favourite part of the design process.
We encourage you to think about your loves outside of wedding land, and bring us favourite colours, particular places that hold special meaning for you, interior design or fashion that you’re drawn to… anything at all that makes you tick. We’ll use all these little nuggets of gold to build from when it comes to your wedding cake design. Book in with us for a complimentary consultation, either in person at our studio in Maidstone, Kent, or via a video call.
Following your consultation, we’ll create your wedding cake proposal, outlining how your cake will look and giving you a detailed price breakdown. If you’re happy with everything, we ask for a non-refundable booking fee of £200.00 to book your date. Once received your wedding cake design adventure begins!
Step 3
Time to Taste
The tasty part starts now! Order your beautifully packaged tasting box filled with four cake flavours of your choice from our menu, along with a surprise duo of macarons which we will post to you. Tasting boxes are posted on set dates between October and April.
Just so you know, if you’d rather taste some cake before booking (and why not!), we charge £55.00 and you can order directly by emailing us on info@bluebellkitchen.co.uk
Step 4
Refining Design
We’ll send you a welcome pack, including a hand drawn sketch of your unique wedding cake and a mood board to show the inspirations we’ve taken from our consultation with you. This design isn’t set in stone, but it should give you a really good idea of how the finished cake will look.
Should you require any alterations at this stage that’s no problem, but any drastic changes could incur an additional fee. We’ll be in regular contact with you to chat everything through and make sure you’re happy with how things are going.
Step 5
Coming Together Beautifully
At 6-8 weeks before your wedding day, we’ll liaise with your venue and your florist to make sure delivery and styling/set up of your cake runs as smooth as silk. We’ll also ensure any allergens are clearly communicated to your venue coordinator, and will happily meet with them in person if required.
At this stage we’ll invite you to a final in person meeting or video call to go through all the details and reconfirm every element of your cake design. This is a chance to relax and get excited about what’s to come!
Step 6
The Big Day
We’ll deliver your finished cake to the venue and make sure it’s styled and set up to perfection. All that’s left for you to do now is to tuck in and enjoy as you start the next chapter of your life together.
