A Macaron Lover’s Dream Wedding Cake at The Orangery Kent

Charlotte and Leslie’s wedding at The Orangery wedding venue in Kent was filled with joy, wildflowers, and one unforgettable Kent wedding cake.

From the moment they saw the outdoor Lapa ceremony space overlooking the lake at The Orangery Kent, they knew it was the venue for them. With their dream of marrying surrounded by natural spring blooms, The Orangery’s lush gardens and stunning lake backdrop made the perfect setting.

Their wedding cake needed to match the energy of their fun, flower-filled celebration—and it absolutely did.

Macaron Magic: Their Wedding Cake Vision

Charlotte and Leslie came to us knowing one thing for certain: their Kent wedding cake had to feature macarons. Everything else was up for discussion, but macarons were non-negotiable!

After chatting through a few different ideas, Charlotte decided she loved the idea of a grand macaron statement—macarons cascading down the cake in a spiral, starting from a full, showstopping macaron posy at the top.

Delicious Flavours to Remember

Choosing flavours was no easy task—they loved everything! After sampling a couple of tasting boxes, they settled on a three-tier buttercream finished cake. The top and base tiers were Peach Melba, which they loved so much they never wavered. The middle tier? Salted Caramel, chosen after much deliberation.

The pistachio and raspberry ripple macarons added a colourful, flavourful punch, with a few brushed in gold to subtly echo their dusky green and pale pink palette.

We didn’t want flowers on the cake at all,” said Charlotte. “We wanted the macarons to be the star.

Style that Stood Out

Set up beside the dance floor, the cake was perfectly positioned for guests to admire as they entered the reception space. Their plan? Cut the cake, then dance the night away.

Charlotte shared a favourite moment: “We cut our cake before our first dance, but instead of feeding each other cake, I shoved a macaron in Les’s mouth and ate the other half myself as the music started. I didn’t think that through—but they looked so scrumptious I just had to!

It was a cake as playful and joyful as the day itself.

A Cake They’ll Never Forget

A few months later, Charlotte and Leslie tucked into some saved slices. “I don’t think any cake will top it,” Charlotte told us.

We’re so glad they found us through Google and loved our family-run approach, open communication and macaron-filled portfolio.

From the beginning, you were so welcoming, encouraging and shared the vision! You made the choice very easy really… everything was just easy and we had no worries at all, not once.”
