If you’re searching for a macaron tower wedding cake in London, you’ve come to the right place. At Bluebell Kitchen, we specialise in creating stunning macaron wedding cakes that bring a unique touch to your special day.
One of the most memorable projects we had the pleasure of working on last year was crafting a bespoke macaron tower for Tess and Lawrence’s wedding at the magnificent Queen’s House in Greenwich. This venue, with its rich history and breathtaking architecture, provided the perfect backdrop for a wedding that was both grand and intimate. Originally designed as a “House of Delight” for Queen Anne of Denmark, Queen’s House is a masterpiece of classical architecture. It exudes elegance and a sense of timelessness that makes it an extraordinary wedding venue.
For Tess and Lawrence, the brief was clear: they wanted a wedding cake that would not only complement the splendour of the venue but also reflect their own style—classic with a contemporary, relaxed feel. They envisioned a cake that was sophisticated, with a design that would resonate with the history of Queen’s House while still feeling fresh and modern.
Crafting the Design: A Blend of Classic Elegance and Modern Flair
Every couple is unique, and so should their wedding cake. We believe that your wedding cake should be a true reflection of your personal style and the vision you have for your special day. Our bespoke designs ensure that your cake isn’t just a dessert—it’s a piece of art that tells your love story.
We designed a sleek single-tier ivory wedding cake that sat atop a five-layer macaron tower. Creating a stunning visual centrepiece that would draw the eye and captivate their guests. The cake tier was intentionally minimalist, allowing the beauty of the structure and the artistry of the sugar florals to shine through. Topping the cake was a large, intricate fluffy sugar peony—one of our signature designs—handmade with painstaking detail to mimic the delicate petals of a real flower. Smaller sugar flowers of lilies, succulent and sweet peas complemented this show stopping bloom. These matched the couple’s wedding florals, guiding the eye down to the bitesize beauties below.
A macaron tower wedding cake to match your London venue
Whether your wedding is taking place in an historic manor, a modern city landmark, or an intimate garden, we design our macaron wedding cakes to perfectly complement the unique character of your venue.
We worked closely with Tess and Lawrence to carefully select their macaron colour tones to reflect the iconic features of Queen’s House. In particular the famous Tulip Stairs and the Great Hall, known for their striking architectural details and rich hues. We chose a palette of deep midnight blues and dusky sky blues paired with warm ivory. These colours not only matched the venue beautifully but also added depth and contrast to the top tier cake.
The Perfect Taste for a Perfect Day
Of course, no wedding cake is complete without considering the flavours. The beauty of a macaron wedding cake lies not only in its stunning appearance but also in its irresistible taste. We take pride in baking cakes and macarons that are as delicious as they are beautiful.
Tess and Lawrence’s choices did not disappoint. They opted for an orange blossom and almond cake tier. This flavour combination is both fragrant and subtly sweet. It offered a delightful contrast to the rich textures of the macarons. For the macarons, they selected an assortment of pistachio, rose, and orange blossom. Each flavour offering a unique taste experience that was as memorable as it was delicious. The blend of flavours added a personal touch to their celebration, reflecting the couple’s taste and style in every bite.
The combination of a rich, flavourful cake tier with the delicate, crisp texture of our freshly baked macarons had their guests coming back for more! Even Palette Events, Tess and Lawrence’s wedding planner said:
“The wedding cake, macarons, and the incredible sugar flowers were spectacular. Not a single macaron was left at the end of the night!”

The Fresh, Modern Twist of Macaron Tower Wedding Cakes
The result was a macaron tower wedding cake that perfectly encapsulated the elegance and grandeur of Queen’s House whilst offering a modern twist that felt fresh and unique. Tess and Lawrence were thrilled with the final creation:
“Thank you so much for the amazing macarons and cake! Everyone enjoyed them so much that everything was gone in minutes! The flowers you made were absolutely phenomenal; we honestly thought they were real.”
