Emily and Max’s wedding at Hole Park in Kent was the perfect mix of elegance and personality and the perfect setting for their sugar flower Spring wedding cake. Surrounded by 200 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland, Hole Park gave them a backdrop that felt timeless and effortlessly romantic.

Bold Spring wedding cake filled with handmade sugar flowers
Emily and Max wanted their spring wedding cake to be stylish yet understated. We designed a four tier cake dressed with handmade sugar ruscus and blush pink and Bridal white roses, carefully matched to her bridal bouquet. Each petal and leaf was hand made petal by petal, giving the design a natural yet refined look, perfect for a Spring celebration.

Spring Wedding Transformation
For their reception, Emily and Max chose to set their marquee directly in front of the Main House, overlooking the lake. A flower-decked bridge linked the reception area to a second marquee where their wedding breakfast was held. This layout definitely gave their guests a real sense of arrival
We positioned their spring wedding cake just by the bridge, so it was one of the first things guests noticed as they stepped across the water — a striking feature in the flow of the day.We positioned their spring wedding cake just by the bridge, so it was one of the first things guests noticed as they stepped across the water — a striking feature in the flow of the day.

From sketch to final design
Below you can see how we developed our original sketch into the final Spring wedding cake design and close ups of their sugar flowers.

Emily loved the idea that she would be able to keep her sugar flowers forever. Below you can see the detail of the handmade sugar roses and ruscus.
Indulgent and mouthwatering flavours
Sitting down with you to find out all about your love story and the celebration you’re planning is our favourite part of the design process. Second to this is discussing your favourite cake flavours and finding out why you might choose one flavour over another. Emily and Max had always planned to include a traditional rich fruit cake as part of their wedding cake. They loved the tradition of keeping their top tier for their first wedding anniversary. When we met, they mentioned how much they wanted to include raspberry as part of their wedding cake flavours. So they were delighted when we created a bespoke flavour of champagne and raspberry for them. It even included a champagne infused homemade raspberry jam.

Cutting the cake by the lake, with a ceremonial sword, added a touch of theatre to the evening and made for some unforgettable photographs.
Lasting memories
Every detail of Emily and Max’s wedding worked beautifully together — the setting, the flowers, the spring wedding cake and of course that marquee. It was a day that felt polished and thoughtful, with personal touches that made it completely theirs.
