A Romantic Syon Park Wedding Filled With Terracotta Tones and Bespoke Edible Favours

Planning a Syon Park wedding always brings a sense of romance. The Great Conservatory glows with soft light, towering tropical plants and a historic charm that never fails to inspire something spectacular. For Kat and Umar, their London wedding was a blend of elegance, warmth and thoughtful details that made their celebration feel personal from the very first moment.

At the heart of their day was a bespoke wedding cake and a set of personalised macaron and cookie favours designed to match their colour palette, their flowers and the beauty of the Conservatory itself. Their August wedding was intimate and stylish. It included a soft natural palette inspired by ivory, cream, blush, terracotta and touches of delicate orange.

This is the story behind their beautiful Syon Park wedding cake.

A Wedding Cake Inspired By The Great Conservatory at Syon Park

Kat was instantly drawn to the plants, architecture and atmosphere inside the Great Conservatory. Her vision was clear. The cake needed to reflect the setting with sugar flowers and leaves inspired by the Conservatory’s tropical planting. The colours were chosen carefully so the transition from the Conservatory to the reception space felt seamless.

Their final palette included ivory, cream, peach, terracotta, blush and a soft orange with gentle greenery. The sugar flowers were created to echo the real floral arrangements by Lavender Green. They kindly shared their floristry mood board with us, so that the cake design felt intentional and connected. Dahlia, garden roses, mini cymbidium orchids, moth orchids and clusters of filler flowers created a soft organic cascade. The sugar monstera leaves were a nod to the plants that fill the Conservatory.

Their Bespoke Wedding Cake Design

Kat and Umar chose a two tier wedding cake that proved that a smaller cake, when designed well, can still stop you in your tracks with the wow factor. Finished in a smooth buttercream ganache, with sugar flowers flowing naturally from the top tier to the base, they chose a palette of ivory, cream, terracotta and greenery. For flavour, both tiers were vanilla summer berry, chosen for their freshness and the sentimental connection the couple had with this flavour.

Displayed in the Conservatory, the cake was perfectly framed by the foliage and architecture of Syon Park. It looked like it belonged there.

We are passionate about working alongside fabulous wedding suppliers here at Bluebell Kitchen. We loved working with their wedding planner Lucy Meehan Events, who helped coordinate all the final details, from flavour checks to allergen information for the caterers at Caper and Berry.

The Story Behind Kat & Umar’s Macaron and Cookie Favours

Behind the scenes of planning Kat and Umar’s handmade wedding favours

One of the most meaningful parts of Kat and Umar’s brief was their desire to give every guest a memorable gift to take home. They wanted favours that felt personal, beautiful and completely connected to their wedding style.

We knew how important these favours were to them and spent a lot of time researching ideas and experimenting with flavour combinations, designs and presentation so everything felt cohesive. We also made sure that Kat and Umar could taste both the cookie and macaron favours as part of their tasting box.

Their final favours included:

  • Four hand painted macarons
  • One hand painted heart shaped cookie
  • Colours inspired by their palette of terracotta and ivory
  • Floral detailing that matched their sugar flowers
  • Blush tissue lining each personalised guest gift bag

We sourced the specific boxes that complemented the gift bags Kat had chosen, and tested every element so the presentation was perfect.

These macaron and cookie favours were more than a treat. They were a keepsake. Many of their guests commented on them throughout the day.

If you are looking for London wedding cakes that include beautiful edible favours, Kat and Umar’s Syon Park wedding is a wonderful example of how meaningful these can be.

Cake Cutting Memories

Kat shared one of her favourite and funniest moments from the day.

“I remember having a slight out of body experience with all eyes on me as I prepared to cut the cake. I was trying to make sure my billowing sleeves did not ruin the masterpiece.”
